Wealth and Freedom

The one thing most successful people have in common is that they know how to manage their money. Below are a few simple pointers in the right direction.

Many people, even with well paid jobs, are often only 3 months away from bankruptcy. If they lose their job, they will soon lose their lifestyle and may hit the financial wall. So a job is anything but secure. They are "Just Over Broke".

Financial Freedom

You are truly free when your passive income from your investments is higher than your personal lifestyle expenses. Wealth is defined as the number of days you can sustain your existence without having to work.

Money works for you and not the other way round. What matters is not how much money you make, but rather how much money you keep as well as how long that money can work for you.

Unlike the wealthy that have enough money at their disposal and don’t have to work to afford luxuries, the rich work hard, and some have even gotten into debts to afford the fine things in life.

Financial Literacy

Money Management

Financial literacy is the ability to understand finance. More specifically, it refers to the set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions through their understanding of finances.

Assets and Liabilities

Many people cannot tell the difference between an asset and a hole in the groud, also known as a liability. They think their home is an asset. Consider this:

  • An asset puts money into your pocket.
  • A liability takes money out of your pocket.

Success is Not Financial

Many people think that success means making a lot of money. When young they lose their health in order to make a fortune. Later in life they spend a fortune to regain their health. They working so hard that they barely have time to enjoy what they've worked for.

What is Success?

Health is the first wealth. True success is living the way you really want. Be who you want to be: yourself, not some copy. Do want you like, don't do what you don't like. Go places when you want to see, enjoy life your way. That's it.

Life is what YOU make it !

About 90% of events in your life are the result of what you say or do. The rest involves other people. Less than 1% is what your government gets up to. You may not be able to change your environment much, but you have the power to change and improve yourself. It thus follows that for things to change, you have to change. When you get better, your life gets better. Focus on what you can change: yourself.

Excuses

You can either make excuses or you can make progress. Up to you. Some people have a long list of why things don't work out for them. It's the economy, the government, their clients, their family, their technology, and much more. All this seems to get in the way. The main problem is, they are not on their list. They are their main obstacle and hindrance.

Get a Mirror

Hang it up where you can see it, maybe in the hallway. Put a sign on top that says "Complaints Department". This is where you will go to file a complaint. You'll be at the right place, talking to right person who can make a change.

Invest in Yourself and Others

Your mind is your most powerful asset. It can outperform any machine if properly trained because it has intelligence, not mere intellect.
